What is Pieces?
Pieces is an event that answers the following questions:What are the stories we are holding? The ones that need and want to be shared? That are both timely and timeless?How are we, as artists and creatives, the mouthpiece, body-piece, and heart of the collective narrative of now?Inspiration:
I am an aerialist and writer, interested in the ways in which we perform our stories. This event comes from my desire to focus on narrative as it drives our various creative mediums, be they physical theatre, dance, song, puppetry, aerial or other circus arts, and all other hybrid forms.Hopes:
Produce a quarterly storytelling event that showcases a variety of creative performance mediums.
Pieces: The Salon
I have been hosting a creative incubator alon space for folks to bring their performance ideas to and present drafts of them to get feedback on. A core group of creators have been coming to these salons, and others have come in and out. From the start, I put it out there that I would like to produce an event together with whoever was interested in developing their ideas into performance pieces.
Future Performance Aspirations
I would like to continue to create with the core group of people who have attended the salon so far, as well as bring in more people. We will create both individual and collaborative acts, which can be turned into a cohesive narrative-driven show, combining circus arts and writing.

I am looking for performers to do polished, memorized acts/pieces driven by and incorporating narrative or story.I am thinking of organizing the show\ incorporating the idea of the word and concept of pieces\piece\peace and stitching in bits of writing between each act that relate. Here is a list of possible act titles or inspiration:

Act Lengths:
-Aerial/other physical act length
4-5min
-Sets of music, pieces of theater or storytelling and hybrid acts (combining physical and less physical mediums) up to 10 minutes
